The Antique Image

There’s a theme for today’s images: butterflies. These three designs were scanned from an old book.

Here are two black and white illustrations I scanned from an old, Victorian book.

Isn’t this a lovely example of calligraphy? I really admire anyone who can do this. This image is a scan I took from an antique Victorian Book on etiquette. I scanned the page from the old book and left it as is. Here’s another lovely example from the same book at Antique Images.

I couldn’t decide which of these images to post, so I posted them both. I love each of them, especially the first because of the frame. These images come from an antique Victorian book full of black and white illustrations. I love using them to decorate gift tags and scrapbooking projects.

This is a beautiful, Edwardian bookmark advertising some sort of ‘entertainment’ for a religious gathering. I’m thinking it must have been music.

These are black and white illustrations I took from an antique Victorian book on etiquette. These images how to hold a pen and the proper writing positions. The fourth image down shows how not to hold a pen when writing. Aren’t you glad you know now?
